Description Abstract
|
A soil mapping unit designates a specific type of soil which has unique characteristics including texture, slope and erosion class. These soils were digitized from the paper origional soil survey final field survey sheets. These sheets were taped together to form an area covering each of the USGS Quadrangles in the county. The areas for each quadrangle were then digitized utilizing run length encoding technique sampling along horizontal lines which represented the midline of cells with a height of 250 ft. the measurement increment along these horizontal lines was one decafoot (10 ft)..
