Services Available Through NODIS
1.
Research/Technical Assistance: NODIS provides services to public and private
agencies for use in solving GIS application issues/problems.
- Recent
examples include:

Trained engineering consulting firm employees and aid in the development
of an environmental dataase for building site location analysis.

Developed the common data base for redistricting the state of
Ohio. This was a cooperative project with Ohio University.

Provided media and others with congressional maps. Provide boards
of elections with address look-up guides.

Developed a GIS database, including land use, soils, street network,
and demographic data, for the Mill Creek Watershed Planning Project
of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.

Developed a parcel-based GIS for the St. Clair/Superior Neighborhood
Association in Cleveland to assist the Association in neighborhood
development and crime analysis and monitoring.

Developed a parcel-based GIS for the City of Barberton and Aurora
to assist these cities in community development and land use planning.

Developed a parcel-based GIS for the Flats Oxbow Development Association
in Cleveland to assist the Association in economic development
and land use planning.

Developed a parcel-based GIS for the St Vincent Quadrangle Development
Association in Cleveland to assist the Association in economic
development and land use planning.

Used GIS technology to assist Cuyahoga Community College in analyzing
its service market.
2. Project Management:
NODIS provided project facilitation and management for a consortium of Cleveland
area public and private agencies interested in better sharing and managing
geographic information through the creation of a GIS network consortium.
The consortium, the "Greater Cleveland Geographic Information Network" or
GC-GIN, undertook a needs assessment, developed a technical and organizational
implementation strategy, and is currently implementing that strategy.
